ORAKEI BASIN WALKWAY
Ōrākei Basin is a picturesque lagoon located in a volcanic crater, known for its watersports.
This walk takes you around the edge of the basin using the boardwalk and the bridge across the Purewa arm of the basin. It offers the chance to see local plant life, as well as views across the city.
There are steps towards the end of this track.
East view across the lagoon to hills opposite from the start of the path on right side of lagoon.
The widest and main walkway that faces north towards the city and gives you another view across the lagoon.
Path winds its way around the lagoon in and out of the lovely native bush.
Shags can be found perching on the fallen trees out by the bridge.

There are stairs along sections of the walk some steep some not so and can be slippery when wet.

The path is easy to follow and wide enough for everyone to enjoy.

The bush along the side of the lagoon give shade as you follow the path and easy going at this stage.
