CARGO CELLAR DOOR WINERY
The cellar door was previously located just south of Dunedin , where it was known as Wangaloa Presbyterian Church. It was builti in 1894 for 240 pounds. In the early 1950’s it was deconsecrated and became the local library and community hall. It was relocated to the Waitiri vineyard – Gibbston in 2020 in one large trucj, a journey of 300 kilometers.
After years of looking, Cargo finally found its home! The stunning Waitiri Creek became available and in November 2017 Cargo moved in and transformed the venue into a unique tasting room with plans for the best beer garden in New Zealand.

Winery is a lovely peaceful and relaxing spot to stop and enjoy some local wines and meal with lovely surrounding scenery.
View inside the winery now has lovely structure and looks like it will be around for years to come.
